I designed and developed 3 player skills for a highly-mobile, axe-wielding character who favours getting up close and personal with enemies and can amplify their team’s close-range capabilities as well as their own. Aside from the basic melee attack and shoot attacks, the player has the following abilities:
Melee Attack/Shoot:
- The character has basic melee attack and shoot abilities that a player would typically have in a third-person shooter.
- The player can use LMB/Right Bumper to perform a melee attack.
- If the player zooms in using RMB/Left Bumper, then they will swap to their gun and zoom in. Using the melee attack input while zoomed will cause the player to shoot their gun instead.

Axe Throw:
- The character can throw their axe towards a target location that stops at the first enemy hit.
- The player can then recast the ability to teleport to the axe while it is in the air or stuck in an enemy.
- The intent of this ability is to give the player a medium damage skillshot that also gives a lot of mobility options.

Spinning Axe:
- The intent of this ability is to give the player a means of amplifying their close-range damage by turning any weapon into a shotgun with a well placed spinning axe.
- In a multiplayer environment, this could also be used by other players to improve the overall DPS for the team.

Tornado:
- Activate to create a whirlwind around the player, dealing damage to every enemy in the area.
- The player can freely move around while this is happening but cannot cast other abilities.
- The intent of this ability is to act as a simple, yet effective ultimate ability that encourages and rewards the player for closing the distance.
