VR Dragon Riding Sim

As part of my Masters, I worked on a research project to investigate the factors that contribute to the feelings of cyber sickness in a VR game. To aid this research, I developed a VR dragon riding simulation in Unity where the player must defend a village from attackers from the back of a dragon. The goal is to defeat all of the attacking forces (denoted by their red colour and weapons) before they are able to kill all of the helpless villagers (denoted by their blue colour and lack of weapons).

Players can grab a set of reigns to control the dragon and can also make it breathe fire by using the trigger buttons. The player can also take out crossbows from their back and use those to fire down on attackers if enemies and villagers are grouped too close together to use your dragon breath.

All assets were made in Blender including the dragon’s rig and animations andI also created the fire VFX and map in Unity.

I made several builds with different speeds and rotation rates to test how much they contributed to cybersickness and surveyed testers to aid my research.
